Proposals for the next "TAB" (Technology Advisory Board) competition are now being invited for consideration under two categories of grants:

Innovative Technology and Education Departmental/Specific Use Lab Support

The primary mission of TAB is to increase the availability of innovative technology and education. This RFP is targeted to insure that students have access to current computer technology in general/specialized labs and classroom teaching. TAB awards have funded projects in a wide variety of disciplines in the arts, humanities, and sciences proposed by faculty, staff, and students. I invite your response to this RFP.

Each of the areas that TAB is requesting proposals in have different requirements as well as different pathways for the approval of faculty and of student proposals. Specific information on the process, timelines, proposal forms (in MS Word format), the forms used for the recommendation of faculty and student proposals as well as the evaluation sheet used by TAB are all found at the TAB website: www.uaf.edu/tab. This web site also contains summary information on previous awards, a list of TAB representatives, meeting agenda and minutes, etc. Please note that the departmental/specific use lab support is targeted to enhance existing technology more than the wholesale replacement of computer equipment.

Two other areas TAB allocates support to - Open Computer Lab Accessibility (extended hours) and Center for Academic Technology (Smart Classrooms) have been solicited separately.

If you have questions about the proposal areas or the process please contact Susan Grigg, chair of TAB at ffslg@uaf.edu .

PROPOSALS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON THE SPRING 2005 FORMS. PLEASE CHECK THE PROPOSAL SUBMISSION SCHEDULE ON THE TAB WEB SITE AT www.uaf.edu/tab FOR DEADLINES.
