Section of ski trail temporarily impacted

A section of the University of Alaska Fairbanks ski trail from the ski hut to the Alaska SAR Facility 11-meter antenna will be plowed Tuesday, Feb. 15 to allow access for emergency vehicles and lift equipment. The access will be maintained through Thursday, Feb 17. The plowing is necessary to ensure the safety of workers climbing the antenna to perform required maintenance and equipment replacement.

Facilities Services is working with trail groomers to minimize impacts on the trail.

The Campus Master Planning Committee is exploring long-term options for year-round vehicular access.
