University of Alaska Fairbanks Instructor Shann Paul Jones, has been invited to speak at the Northwest District Convention of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance March 17-19 at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon.

Jones’ talk, North American Post-Secondary Sport Fishing Education: An Overview, focuses on the breath and depth of both credit and non-credit sport fishing education programs across the continent through a series of case studies. Each case study serves as an example of a different sport fishing program structure, and is considered in terms of its goals, limitations and future prospects. Jones, a Lecturer of Outdoor Recreation for UAFäó»s Tanana Valley Campus and Summer Sessions, will also discuss how his case study approach can be applied to other recreation program development.
