Three candidates for the position of statewide Vice President for Academic Affairs will be visiting the UAF campus. They will be holding Open Forums at the following times:

* Tues, March 29, 1-3 p.m., Rob Sheehan, Wood Center C/D, speaking on "Academic Affairs: Providing the Lead on Strategic Planning."

Sheehan is the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at the University of Toledo. He is a Professor of Education and received his Ph.D. in Education from Georgia State University in 1977. He does research and has published on interventions for developmentally disabled infants and toddlers.

* Thur, March 31, 1-3 p.m., Lee Alley, Wood Center Ballroom, speaking on "Academic Greatness while under Siege."

Alley is in charge of Systemwide Student Enrollment Services and Information Technologies for the University System of South Dakota, and coordinates policy initiatives in academic program management. He earned his Ph.D. in management systems from the University of Nebraska, and has been a faculty member in Business, Systems Engineering and Computer Science. He has research, publications and presentations in engineering, university administration and instructional design.

* Thur, April 7, 1-3 p.m., Deborah Walters, Wood Center C/D.

Walters is Provost and Senior Vice President at Unity College in Maine. She receved her Ph.D. in Neurocommunications from the University of Birmingham, England, in 1980. She is a Professor of Computer Science and has taught Engineering, Communications and Psychology. She has several publications on computation inspired by the mammalian brain.

Candidates will give short presentations followed by an open forum with questions and answers. Events are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
