Alaska One President Greg Petrowich, announced today that Fairbanks student, Greyson Delzer, was the first place Kindergarten winner in the Alaska One Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest.
Sponsored by Alaska One in cooperation with the nationally acclaimed PBS children’s series, "Reading Rainbow", the contest encourages young children to write and illustrate their own stories.
Greyson’s story entitled: "Are Dinosaurs Really Extinct?" included six illustrations. He is home schooled through the Galena School District’s IDEA Home School Program. This is his first entry in the Reading Rainbow contest. His older brother Max has placed in the top three in each of the last 3 years (K-2). He is the son of Jennifer and Damien Delzer of Fairbanks.
The First Lady of Alaska, Nancy Murkowski in Juneau, will present the award to our local winner on Tuesday, March 29 at 3 p.m. through a polyconference system at KUAC Alaska One, located on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks at 312 Tanana Drive, Suite 202.
