Unscheduled snow plowing on North Campus

A section of the University of Alaska Fairbanks ski trail from the ski hut to the Alaska Satellite Facility 11meter antenna will be plowed Friday, April 15 to allow access for emergency vehicles and lift equipment. The plowing is necessary to ensure the safety of workers climbing the antenna to perform emergency inspections.

This access route will remain plowed for the remainder of the season.

Facilities Services is working with trail groomers to minimize impacts on other trail sections.

The Campus Master Planning Committee is exploring long-term options for vehicular access to the antenna during the winter.
