The UAF north campus area is entering into its first full summer season under the 2004 adopted management plan that provides user groups, researchers, and academic programs with a notification process prior to beginning any of your activities. The first point of contact is Luke Hopkins, North Campus Manager, who can be reached at northcampus@fs.uaf.edu, or 474-2648. He will review event requests and land use permits for most activities under guidelines set out in the UAF North Campus plan, www.uaf.edu/mastplan/northcampus/

Summer students and families will continue to enjoy this unique area. Family size groups and individuals are not required to notify the NC manager before using these facilities. But attention must be given to sensitive areas where migratory nesting occurs around lakes and wet lands through the first half of our summer season. And please respect the natural environment and UAF scientific research plots: Stay on the trails that are provided. Remember when enjoying this wooded area of campus, mutual respect means mutual use of this area.

Watch for posted guidelines, contact info and maps at our trail heads. And watch for north campus activities posted on the UAF Event Calendar found on UAF community events page at www.uaf.edu/uaf/community/services.html
