UAF’s facilities department awarded Governor’s safety award

The University of Alaska Fairbanks facilities services department was awarded the 2004 Governoräó»s Safety Award of Excellence. Gov. Frank Murkowski presented the award during the Governoräó»s Safety Conference March 14, 2005 in Anchorage. This is the second consecutive year the department has received this award.

The 310 employees of facilities services are charged with operating and maintaining UAF’s physical environment; constructing and renovating facilities; providing uninterrupted water, power and communications; providing campus planning and engineering services; protecting UAF’s property interests; and providing a safe and comfortable environment to further academic excellence in teaching and research.
