KUAC hosts 9th Annual Red Green Regatta

KUAC TV 9/FM 89.9 will host the 9th Annual Red Green Regatta Sunday, July 24. Registration for the Regatta begins at 11 a.m. at the Graehl Park Boat Launch. The Entry Fee for the Regata is $25 per vessel, which includes one t-shirt. The start time for the Regatta is at noon. You can register for the Regatta the morning of the event.

Get out your duct tape and join the flotilla of fun floating contraptions. Criteria includes: use of the Handyman’s secret weapon duct tape, imagination and the ability to stay afloat. This year’s Grand Prize is a Floating Cabana Islander (valued at $350). It includes a mounting platform and inflatable cooler with a detachable wind resistant top, center swim porthole and boarding platform. 1st and 2nd Prizes are a 16 Quart inflatable Cooler and the 3rd Prize is a Yukon Inflatable Tube which can be used on the water or snow. The prizes have been donated by Compeau’s. The winners and special recognition will be announced by Governor Murkowski at the Governor’s Picnic at the Pioneer Park Finish Line.

Presenting sponsors of the 9th Annual Red Green Regatta are OK Lumber/Ace Hardware and Denali State Bank. Additional support for the event is provided by Compeau’s, Trademark and the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce.
