Please mark your calendar for service learning workshops Monday, Aug. 22 with Professor Patti Clayton, founding coordinator of the Service-Learning Program and assistant director of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning at NC State University.

"Introduction to Service Learning" will take place Monday, Aug. 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. in Wood Center rooms C&D. The presentation is open to deans, directors, department chairs, interested faculty and students. This is an interactive PowerPoint presentation to encourage the integration of service learning into courses and student activities.

"Service Learning 101" will take place from 2-5 p.m. in Wood Center conference rooms C&D and is for faculty who have a specific course they would like to work with.

Evaluation of the Faculty Development program will take place Tuesday, Aug. 23. Deans, directors and department chairs can participate in one of the following sessions.

1-2 p.m. - Deans and Directors, Chancellor’s Conference Room, 330 Signers’ Hall
2-3 p.m. - Department Chairs, Chancellor’s Conference Room, 330 Signers’ Hall
3:30-4:30 p.m. - Department Chairs, Runcorn Conf. Rm. - 300 Natural Sciences Facility
