UAF’s Borealis Brass featured at World Forum

UAF’s Borealis Brass were featured performers at the recent UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Forum on Music. The event drew diplomats, musicians and students from 31 countries to Los Angeles to perform, create, discuss and further the state of music in the world for the twentieth century.

UAF faculty members Jane Aspnes, James Bicigo and Karen Gustafson were featured as performers along with their undergraduate students Hannah Bjornstad and Murphy McCaleb. UAF music composition grad students Courtney Miklos and Sheri Throop were featured composers.

Borealis Brass will perform a concert of music from their performances at the UNESCO World Forum on Saturday Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. in Davis Concert Hall at UAF. Admission is free.
