The University of Alaska web portal will be introduced to UAF students, faculty and staff June 12. Portals are client-oriented websites that personalize tools and information to the specific needs of the person visiting the site, using information from databases. MyUA offers the features of a traditional portal, with the added feature of instant access to an array of channels about the university. MyUA can be customized by each user with their choice of specific channels and where they will be displayed on portal pages.

Information, including grades, class lists and account balances is available along with news and other information services. There are also group functions that provide a mechanism for communication among specific users. You only need one UserID and password to access registration and employee services, among other resources.

MyUA will be reintroduced in the fall for returning students and faculty. Portals are becoming increasingly popular at universities across the country and our students are expected to be some of the first and most active users of this new tool.

You will receive an e-mail from the help desk when your account is activated, within two weeks. Look around the portal, come back often and don’t hesitate to provide feedback on this new service.

Visit myua.alaska.edu to get started.
