As part of its continuing public lecture series, the University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Liberal Arts is hosting a discussion on population growth and agriculture Friday, April 13 from 7:30-9 p.m. in room 202 of the Natural Sciences Facility.
The talk, äóìFarming Households in Northern Scotland: New Perspectives on Traditional Agriculture,äó? discusses a new way of thinking that studies the micro-demographic level of the farming household.
The lecture will be presented by Penn State University professor of biological anthropology James Wood. His research areas include areas of human population biology, including historical demography, population ecology, reproductive biology and infectious disease dynamics. He has conducted fieldwork from Papua New Guinea to the northern Orkney Islands in Scotland.
The event is part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute public lecture series.
