Nolan to speak about IPY research on GoogleEarth

Institute of Northern Engineering Associate Research Professor Matt Nolan will give a presentation for UAF researchers on how to get International Polar Year research highlighted in GoogleEarth. The presentation will take place in room 010 of the West Ridge Research Building on Tuesday, June 12 from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center.

At 1 p.m. Nolan will give a public seminar on "IPY Explorations via Virtual Globes." This presentation is the first in a series weekly science seminars hosted by ARSC every Tuesday at 1 p.m., June 12 - July 31, excluding July 3. Scientists and researchers who are using ARSCäó»s fast and sophisticated computational abilities will present the weekly seminars to demonstrate how computer and information-based technologies are applied to solving real-world problems.

This is the first of the 10-week summer science seminar series. The seminars are intended for a general audience and the public is invited. A map of the West Ridge Research Building is available online at www.arsc.edu.
