The University of Alaska Fairbanks athletics department, in conjunction with media technology firm Penn Atlantic, will offer live Internet broadcasts of all women’s volleyball home matches for the 2007 season.

The 18-game slate includes this weekend’s pair of exhibition matches, the Nanooks nonconference home opener against Armstrong Atlantic, complete coverage of the six-match 2007 Auto Service Company Nanook Classic and Alaska’s nine-match Great Northwest Athletic Conference home schedule.

The pay-per-view broadcasts, featuring live video and audio, will be available at www.pennatlantic.com and can be accessed through www.alaskananooks.com.

The athletics department began live video streaming of men’s hockey, men’s basketball and women’s basketball home contests last year. Live coverage for women’s volleyball starts with two exhibition matches Aug. 17-18.

"Partnering with Penn Atlantic has given parents, alumni and fans a new medium to watch Nanook athletics," said UAF athletics director Forrest Karr. "Penn Atlantic provided quality coverage of our programs last year, and we are pleased to add women’s volleyball."
