Taku and Ballaine parking lot power outage

The power outage to the headbolt outlets in the Taku and Ballaine parking lots continues. The failure is a broken cable between a connection box near the Rasmuson Library and a transformer at the bottom of the hill that feeds the Taku and Ballaine lots. A contractor has been hired to replace the broken cable. There continues to be unknowns regarding a time frame for repair due to material availability and the potential impact of frozen soils.

Facilities Services will attempt to get power to the lots with emergency generators Thursday, Nov. 20. Once the generators are up and running we will issue a schedule identifying power availability. In addition, signs will be posted in each lot.

If you suspect you may have problems starting your vehicle, please make arrangements to park in other lots on campus. Parking Services, 474-PARK is available if assistance is needed.
