Information on the newly revised and expanded 2009 Global Change Student Research Grant Competition is now available at http://www.cgc.uaf.edu. Hardcopy announcements can be picked up at the Center for Global Change, Room 306 Akasofu Building, or the Graduate School, Room 202 Eielson Building.

The competition has been greatly expanded for 2009, due in large part to generous new investments by UA President Mark Hamilton and UAA Chancellor Fran Ulmer. Maximum award amounts have increased significantly, and the competition is now open to students at both UAF and UAA. There is a renewed emphasis on undergraduate as well as graduate student submissions. Content and formatting requirements have also changed significantly.

Undergraduate applicants are encouraged to submit pre-proposals in order to receive feedback before submitting their final proposals. These pre-proposals are due Monday, February 16, and final proposals from all applicants are due Friday, March 6. Undergraduate and graduate proposals will be evaluated separately.
