A winter storm warning is in effect for the Fairbanks area through 6 p.m. February 19, 2009. The Fairbanks Campus remains open.
Periods of snow are expected today with up to five inches of possible accumulation, more snow tonight with a total of three to eight inches expected.
Due to unseasonably warm temperatures and heavy snow, roads in Fairbanks and surrounding areas are extremely slick. Please travel with caution, dress for the weather and call 474-7UAF(7823) for general information about the campus.
As a residential campus it is imperative that every effort be made to keep the university open and operating. Therefore, it is unlikely the Fairbanks campus would ever completely closed due to weather conditions.
Students with questions about specific classes should contact their instructors.
If weather conditions are such that employees are unable to stay at work or come to work, appropriate leave should be coordinated through the employee’s supervisor.
