Get your resume ready! The University of Alaska Fairbanks Career Expo ’03 is Wednesday and Thursday, March 26 - 27, 2003 in the UAF Wood Center Ballroom. More than 40 local and national employers will be on campus next week to recruit UAF students and alumni. The UAF and Fairbanks communities are invited to explore full- and part-time job and internship opportunities.

Career Expo is an opportunity to network with potential employers and explore organizations and careers. Graduating seniors and juniors seeking full-time, summer and internship opportunities are encouraged to research employers prior to the fair and bring their resumes to the event. Freshman and sophomore students are invited to explore career opportunities and talk to employers. Alumni and community members may also apply for positions and research career opportunities.

According to Job Outlook 2003, published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, employers nationwide rank career fairs 4.2 out of 5 for effectiveness in recruiting college students and graduates. The top five majors targeted by employers in the western region of the U.S. are electrical engineering, computer science, business administration, computer engineering and mechanical engineering.

Employer booths will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Wood Center. A complete employer listing, website links and additional information are available at www.uaf.edu/career.
