Let your senses be your guide to the Science Potpourri at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from noon - 5 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2003, in the Natural Sciences Facility.

Slip into the sloppy side of science by making your own slime and whet your appetite for destruction by creating simulated tidal waves or flooding a miniature town. Use a microscope to look at some of the smallest inhabitants from Ballaine Lake or peer into a scanning electron microscope. Visitors are encouraged to bring their favorite rocks for evaluation at the geology department’s rock clinic.

More active adventurers can kick around kinetic theory during the chemistry department’s "Dangerous Demos" science theater presentation in the Boyd Lecture Hall. Free parking for Science Potpourri is available in the lot behind the Natural Sciences Facility located on Yukon Drive between the upper residence halls and the UA Museum.

This event is sponsored by UAF’s College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics.
