National Research Council seeks public input on North Pacific Science Plan

A special panel of the National Research Council (NRC) will visit the University of Alaska Fairbanks April 22, 2003, to take public testimony and suggestions for research that should be funded by the North Pacific Research Board Science Plan. This is one of several NRC panel visits around the state aimed at obtaining public input into this plan. The meeting will be held in Conference Room 401 of the International Arctic Research Center (IARC), April 22, from 9am to 2pm. People wishing to present their ideas will each have 10 minutes before the panel. The panel has already held a meeting in Kodiak. Additional meetings are planned in Barrow, Juneau, Dillingham, Bethel, Anchorage and Seattle. For more information, please contact Dr. Brenda Konar, Assistant Professor of Marine Sciences, University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, bkonar@guru.uaf.edu (907)474-5028.
