New Hire Expands Coaching Staff

Jason Lammers has been hired as assistant hockey coach for the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks.

Lammers played college hockey at SUNY Geneseo from 1994-1998 and played professionally in the West Coast Hockey League for two years, then went to the Phoenix Mustangs, which on the WCHL Championship in 2000.

The next year, Lammers made the move to college coaching as a volunteer at Clarkson University during the 2000-2001 season. He then served as a full-time assistant coach for Hobart College for the 2001-2002 season. This past season, Lammers had the opportunity to return to Clarkson in the prestigious Eastern College Athletic Conference as a full-time assistant coach.

"Jason has the qualifications and experience we’re looking for," said UAF head coach Guy Gadowsky. "Besides his exceptional experience, Jason represents himself with the utmost professionalism. He will be the perfect addition to the UAF hockey program and to the athletic department."
