Brian working with robotics Robots will take the stage at the University of Alaska Fairbanks this weekend as students participating in the Alaska Summer Research Academy present their work. The 10-day science camp introduces students to a range of scientific fields, from biology to engineering to web development. Students from Alaska and the U.S. work closely with faculty and staff in small teams, each engaged in a specific scientific research topic or project related to engineering and computer science.

Following a week of intensive study, student teams prepare a scientific abstract and present their team’s findings to fellow students, scientists, parents and guests at a closing day colloquium on Saturday, June 21. The robotics presentation will begin at 12:10 p.m. in room 201 of the Natural Sciences Facility.

The program is administered by the College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics and includes members of the UAF community from CSEM, the School of Mineral Engineering, Institute of Northern Engineering, Geophysical Institute, Arctic Region Supercomputing Center, Alaska Volcano Observatory, Institute of Arctic Biology, College of Liberal Arts and the School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, as well as faculty members from Alak School in Wainwright, Howard Luke Academy and Monroe High School.
