Yossi Amrani, Israeli’s consul general for the Pacific Northwest Region, will speak
at the University of Alaska Fairbanks June 30, 2003. His lecture, "Foreign Policy
Challenges
Amrani was a member of the Israeli negotiation team for the Interim Agreement with the Palestinian Authority in 1995. Prior to that, he was a foreign policy advisor to the president of Israel in 1994 and worked as a bureau chief of the ambassador’s office at the Israeli Embassy in Washington from 1988 to 1993.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in general and Jewish history from Haifa University and a master’s degree in general history and American Jewish history from the Hebrew University.
Amrani will speak to the Congregation Or HaTzafon at 1744 Aurora Drive, June 30 at 6 p.m. and to the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce general membership luncheon at the Westmark Hotel on Tuesday, July 1, at noon.
