The University of Alaska Museum recently welcomed Emily Howk Drygas as its director of development. Her responsibilities will include donor relations, managing the museum’s new membership and corporate partners programs, and developing additional fundraising events for the museum.
Raised in Paxson, Drygas is a third generation Alaskan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies and Travel Industry Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and previously served as membership manager for the Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau and marketing manager for Alaska Riverways. Her areas of expertise include marketing, membership development and event planning.
Drygas succeeds Cindy Schumaker, who recently accepted the position of project director for the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitor Center.
