Chancellor Lind’s Fall Convocation: Raising the Standard

University of Alaska Fairbanks Chancellor Marshall Lind will address staff, faculty and students Tuesday, Sept. 23 during a fall convocation. The presentation, "Raising the Standard," will take place at 1 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium on the UAF campus. An ice cream social will take place outside the auditorium at 12:15 p.m.

"Enrollment is up, academic programs have expanded and our facilities are improved," said Lind. "But there’s a lot more work to be done. It’s the university’s role to take the lead for education and workforce development across the state. When we think about raising the standards we look within the university first."

UA President Mark Hamilton, UAF Provost Paul Reichardt, Faculty Senate President Pete Pinney, Staff Council President Rory O’Neill and student government president Thom Walker will participate in this year’s presentation.

This will be Lind’s last convocation. He recently announced his retirement effective July 1, 2004.
