Marianne Kerr is the new University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service agent for 4-H and youth development in the Anchorage district. The appointment was announced by Tony Nakazawa, extension director.
"We are excited in having Marianne as the Anchorage 4-H agent. She will provide leadership for 4-H and youth programs in the Anchorage area," Nakazawa said. "She brings to her position 25 years of volunteer management experience to the position."
Kerr will be responsible for expanding and supporting the 4-H program in the Anchorage area from Girdwood to Chugiak and will also be working with the volunteer club leaders and recruiting new leaders and members for K- 12 youth.
Kerr has a master’s degree in adult education and is certified in volunteer administration, one of only two in the state. She is experienced in creating and leading training and informal educational programs.
