The University of Alaska Fairbanks Tanana Valley Campus will be celebrating the grand opening of the Tanana Valley Campus Center this Thursday, Oct. 16 from 4-7p.m.
The Tanana Valley Campus Center (TVCC) is located at 604 Barnette Street in the former state courthouse facility. TVC moved into the building in August after renovation was done on the first two floors. TVC plans on renovating and occupying the third and fourth floors as funding allows. All of TVC’s student assistance functions as well as a number of academic programs are currently housed in the new facility.
The grand opening celebration will give members of the Fairbanks community a chance to tour the new facility and to learn about the various programs that are housed there. There will be drawings for door prizes throughout the day, including a grand prize drawing of a three-credit tuition waiver for the spring 2004 semester. Refreshments will be provided by the TVC Culinary Arts program. There will be an official program featuring TVC Director Jake Poole and UAF Chancellor Marshall Lind from 5:30-6:00p.m.
