UAF police issue composite sketch

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Police Department has issued a computer-generated composite sketch of a suspect in an ongoing case and would like the public’s assistance in identifying the man.

On Monday, Feb. 16 around 2 p.m. a female student walking up Yukon Drive near Kobuk Street was pulled into an older, dark blue or black minivan with tinted back windows. The van drove north about 100 yards and pulled into the upper residence hall parking lot before stopping. When the van door opened the student got out and went inside the building. An unknown male from the van followed her and began to ask her personal questions. She did not answer the questions and the male left the area.

The suspect is described as a thin, teenage male. His height is described as between 5’8" and 6’2" and his age between 17 and 19. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident and does not appear to be Caucasian. The driver of the vehicle was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. There was no description given for the third person in the van.
