Katey Walter, a Ph.D. candidate in biology and wildlife, tries her hand at the two-person cross-cut competition during the seventh annual Forest Sports Festival, sponsored by UAF’s School of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences in conjunction with the Resource Management Society.
Other contests in the competition on Saturday, Oct. 2 included the pulp toss, axe
throw, log rolling, solo cross-cut, fire building and birling on Ballaine Lake. Prizes
were awarded to the winning team and the top individual male and female participants.
