Tanana Valley Campus boasts a 100 percent success rate of
students finding employment immediately after graduation in programs such as
paralegal studies, culinary arts and aviation maintenance. Chris Davis
(above), a 2003 graduate of the process technology program, works for Flint
Hills Resources. The process technology program and the role it plays in
helping prepare Alaskans for Alaska’s jobs will be the subject of a brown
bag seminar Oct. 22 from noon-1 p.m. at the Hutchison Institute of Technology.
TVC first opened its doors to the public in 1974 as the Tanana Valley Community College. Over the years TVC has grown to become the fourth largest campus in the University of Alaska 16-campus system, with an enrollment of more than 3,000 students. The campus offers 40 certificate and associate degree programs in topics ranging from allied health to professional piloting.
In recognition of TVC’s anniversary, Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor proclaimed Oct. 18-22, 2004 as "Tanana Valley Campus Week."? For more information on TVC’s 30th anniversary celebration visit their website at www.tvc.uaf.edu or call 455-2857.
