Morgan Spurlock, who won the Best Director award in the Documentary Competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival for his movie "Super Size Me," will be speaking at UAF in the Davis Concert Hall on Friday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.

Spurlock’s film explores America’s obesity epidemic, declining health and physical education classes, food addictions and the extreme measures people take to lose weight and regain their health.

Spurlock has been speaking to capacity crowds every night throughout America. His message is simple: "You vote with your fork." While offering some hilarious anecdotes about the making of the film, Spurlock will also reflect on the influence of corporations on our media. He will also take questions from the audience.

Tickets to this event will cost $5 for youth and students, staff, and faculty with a Polar Express Card, and $10 for the general public. The tickets are on sale now at the Wood Center front desk and Hoitt’s. For more information about the film, please see supersizeme.com.
