Rifle team defeats Murray State, earns sweep

MURRAY, KY-The University of Alaska Fairbanks’ rifle team earned a sweep of their three-match, five-day trip to Ohio and Kentucky.

The Nanooks defeated Murray State Monday, 4706-4570.

UAF shot 2358 in the air rifle competition, and 2348 in small-bore. MSU shot 2314 in air rifle and 2256 in small-bore.

"By and large, we shot well today,"? said Nanook Head Coach Glenn Dubis. "It was a pretty good day today, about the same as yesterday (Sunday).

The victory gives UAF a perfect 5-0 record this season. The Nanooks will now be off until after the holidays, returning to competition when they visit Texas-El Paso January 15th.
