Most University of Alaska Fairbanks offices will close for the holidays beginning Thursday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. and reopen Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 8 a.m. The UAF police and fire departments will remain open and the UAF Bookstore, the Student Recreation Center, the Wood Center, the UA Museum of the North, Rasmuson Library and some computer labs on campus will have limited hours. The fall semester will begin to wind down for UAF students Monday, Dec. 13, the last day of student instruction, which will be followed by final examinations scheduled for Dec. 15-18. Residence halls will close at noon, Sunday, Dec. 19.

Students will begin returning to campus Tuesday, Jan. 18 when residence halls reopen; new students are invited to participate in orientation activities the following day. The first day of classes for the spring semester is Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005.
