Coordinating tsunami relief efforts at UAF

The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Namaste India Club at UAF are serving as campus contacts for information about donations to relief organizations in countries affected by the recent tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

Donations can be made to the "Alaska to Asia Disaster Relief Fund" at any Alaska Wells Fargo Bank branch or to any American Red Cross chapter. Contact the Fairbanks Red Cross at (907) 456-5937. A list of relief organizations can be found at the U.S. Agency for International Development website at www.usaid.gov.

As of fall 2004, there were more than 250 international students at UAF, a third of them from India.
