Because of continued snow accumulation and warmer temperatures, please use extreme caution driving to and from the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. The UAF campus remains open for regular business activities. The decision to allow employees to leave work early or arrive later than usual as a result of severe weather or other conditions is the responsibility of the dean or director. UAF’s practice is that time lost from work under such circumstances will be charged to accrued annual leave or leave without pay at the supervisor’s discretion. Administrative leave can be taken if the campus is officially closed.
Facilities Services is working around the clock to clean things up and return your daily routines to normal. Once the the storms slow, the parking lots will be scheduled for clearing. Current forecasts include more snow, high temperatures and rain, making everything a bit more taxing on everyone. If you do see or have a special need, please call Facilities Service at 474-7000 or Bear Edson at 474-2496; a crew will arrive as soon as possible.
