Based on merits of business excellence, educational support, and community service, UAF’s Associated Students of Business has selected Ginger Stock-McKenzie to be the 29th individual honored with its prestigious Business Leader of the Year Award. Mrs. Stock-McKenzie is President and CEO of WebWeavers Technology Group in Fairbanks.

Eight years ago Stock-McKenzie began WebWeavers Technology Group with her former business partner in a dining room with one computer and $200 in the bank. Despite the doubts of doubts of many, they left their jobs to start a new adventure. The business took off and is still going strong, thanks to a loyal staff, a fantastic community, faithful clients and a supportive family. Ginger became President of the company in 2003. Under her leadership, the business that began as an optimistic partnership in a dining room expanded to form a successful technology design firm that specializes in everything from Website, Multimedia and Print Design, to custom applications, website management and multimedia CD/DVD duplication services. Employing 10 Alaskans, 3 of which are currently UAF students, WebWeavers has a strong commitment to the State and education.

As a School of Management Alum, Ginger is currently serving on the School of Management Advisory Board, UAF College of Fellows, Alaska State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, State of Alaska Workforce Investment Board. She is currently participating in Leadership Anchorage through the Alaska Humanities Forum and is an active member of Sunrisers Rotary International. In addition to dedicating two years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club, Ginger has served on a number of boards and advisory councils dedicated to betterment of the Fairbanks Community and Alaska. Ginger continues to put countless hours and extraordinary effort into her various leadership roles. She is an excellent example to many of what can come as a result of sheer force of will and infinite stick-to-itiveness.

Ginger and her husband, Sean and dog, Marley enjoy the Fairbanks community are all celebrating their second year of marriage.

The Associated Students of Business have been honoring community business leaders since 1977. The banquet presents and excellent networking opportunity for students, UAF Alumni and the business community.

All are welcome to attend the banquet honoring Ginger as the 2005 Business Leader of the Year. The banquet will take place March 24 at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with no-host cocktails and 7 p.m. dinner. Tickets may be purchased at a cost of $50 per person.
