The annual National History Day Fair will be held this Thursday and Friday, Feb 17-18, at the Wood Center Ballroom. Over the past seven years thousands of local elementary and high school students have showcased their work at the Fairbanks National History Day Competition sponsored by the UAF Office of Public History, with generous support from the UAF Bookstore and Wells Fargo.

National History Day is part of a nationwide competition for students in Grades 6-12, in which students write papers, produce exhibits and create documentaries on a particular historical theme. This year’s theme is "Communication in History" and we expect hundreds of local students to participate.

The fair will be held on the UAF campus in the Wood Center Ballroom on Thursday and Friday, Feb 17-18. The exhibits will be open to public viewing all day Thursday (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Friday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m). The awards ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday morning at the Ballroom.
