UAF Olympic rifle fund-raising dinner

UAF alumni and 2004 Olympic medalists Matt Emmons and Dan Jordan will be recognized at a fund-raising dinner to support the UAF rifle team Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m. in the Westmark Hotel Gold Room.

Both men are UAF graduates and former standouts of the Nanook rifle team. Emmons, a 2003 UAF graduate and former NCAA national champion, won the gold medal in men’s prone rifle at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Jordan, a 2001 alumnus, took the silver medal in men’s three-position rifle at the 2004 Paralympic Games.

Emmons and Jordan will be joined by former UAF rifle coach and current coach of the U.S. national rifle team, Dave Johnson.

Fans can meet the athletes from 6-6:45 p.m. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance or $55 at the door, and can be purchased at the Patty Center ticket office or by calling 474-5977.
