UAF Chancellor Steve Jones, center, tours the UA Museum of the North for a regular
update on the progress of construction on the museum’s new wing and renovations to
the original building. Pictured in the future Rose Berry Alaska Art Gallery are museum
Development Director Emily Drygas, UAF Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Community
Engagement Jake Poole, Jones, Museum Director Aldona Jonaitis and museum Communications
Coordinator Kerynn Fisher. Scaffolding lining the walls gives painters and electricians
access to the 40-high walls in the gallery. Not pictured, but also on the tour, were
museum Special Projects Manager Gary Selinger and UAF Project Manager Carol Adamczak.
The museum is currently closed to visitors for renovations to the Gallery of Alaska. The Museum Store and administrative/curatorial offices remain open, and the museum’s spring programs continue as scheduled at their off-site locations. For more information, please call the museum at (907) 474-7505 or visit the museum online at www.uaf.edu/museum.
