FAIRBANKS, AK-KUAC TV 9/FM 89.9 General Manager & CEO, Greg Petrowich announced today that KUAC TV9 has been nominated for a Northwest Regional Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Northwest Chapter.

The KUAC TV 9 production, Vital Signs: Caring for Alaskans received the nomination for the episode Limiting Occupational Injuries in the Public Affairs Programming: Special or Series category; Robert Hannon, Executive Producer, Michael Letzring, Producer, Aaron Elterman, Videographer. Karen Perdue, vice president for health, University of Alaska was also an executive producer for the series.

Specials or series from KING-TV (Seattle), KOMO-TV (Seattle), KIRO-TV (Seattle), KPTV-TV (Portland, OR), and KOIN-TV (Portland) were also nominated. KUAC-TV and KTUU-TV in Anchorage represent Alaska this year as the only two stations to receive this prestigious nomination. "In a category where all the other stations are from Seattle and Portland, just being nominated is an honor for us,"? said Petrowich.

The 42nd Annual NW Regional Emmy Awards ceremony will be held, Saturday, June 25 at the Bagley Wright Theatre in Seattle. Longtime Fairbanksan and television pioneer August "Augie"? Hiebert, will be inducted into the Gold Circle which honors individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Northwest Chapter for at least a major part of their fifty (or more) years career.
