Changes are coming to the KUAC FM 89.9 program schedule beginning Monday, July 25.

4-6 p.m. - All Things Considered will air in its entirety.

5:01 p.m. - KUAC Afternoon News

6 p.m. - Alaska News Nightly

6:30 p.m. - Marketplace - Hear reports on the latest business and economic news and analysis of the significant issues of the day. Marketplace is a programming staple in most public radio communities, and we are happy to be able to make it available to you.

Other new programs include:

7 p.m. - On The Media - Once a week veteran journalists Brooke Gladstone and Bob Garfield will decode what we hear, read and see in the media every day.

8 p.m. - Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz - jazz legend Marian McPartland invites a different guest artist to her program each week and talks to them about their life and music.

7 p.m. - Afropop Worldwide - A one hour weekly world music and culture program with long-time host Georges Collinet.

These exciting new shows will replace the current lineup of Counterspin, The Health Show, Tech Nation, 51% and Living on Earth, provide listeners with a consistency and quality of programming that is responsive to the needs expressed by our community, and ultimately assist in meeting KUAC’s strategic plan’s goal to "Develop a dynamic programming mix for the broadcasting community we serve".

On the nights of the Fairbanks Northstar Borough Assembly meeting, KUAC will begin their broadcasts at 7 p.m. (instead of 6:30 p.m.).

KUAC invites feedback regarding the programming changes. If you have any comments after the new schedule begins, call 907-474-7491 or visit our website www.kuac.org .
