Join UAF Professsor Ed Husted in investigating the justification, if any, of restricting First Amendment freedoms of speech and of the press in the following contemporary situations:

national defense, campaign finance reform, criticism of public officials, supermarket tabloids, the Patriot Act, pornography, picturing violence to minors, book banning in public libraries, abortion clinics, publisher liability when a book is used to commit crimes, highway beautification, land desecration, jury tampering and requiring a license for a parade or other demonstration.

The seminar will take place Friday, Aug. 5 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 6 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium located in the Bunnell Building on the UAF campus.
