The megafauna, mammoth, dominated high-arctic Siberia during the last glacial period. However, they suddenly disappeared at the beginning of Holocence. Where did they go? Evidence from thawing permafrost may provide the answer as to what caused the extinction of the mammoth in high-arctic Siberia.

Hear about it at a special seminar on Monday, August 8, in 401 IARC. The seminar begins at 3 p.m. and will be presented by Professor M. Fukuda from Hokkaido University.
