University of Alaska Fairbanks instructor Shann Paul Jones has been invited to present a clinic at the annual convention of the Alaska Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Dance. The convention will take place Nov. 11-12, 2005 at Dimond High School in Anchorage.
Jones’ session, "Joining Physics and Phys. Ed. Through Fly Casting," focuses on the close relationship between these three entities. Teachers from different disciplines will collaborate to create lessons aligned with Alaska content standards. In addition, Jones will demonstrate how physics lessons can help students meet performance standards in mathematics and science at all grade levels.
Shann Paul Jones is an outdoor activities instructor at UAF’s Tanana Valley Campus and Summer Sessions. He also is an employee at the UAF Geophysical Institute.
