Sun Microsystems is looking for Alaska’s most creative and talented computer science students participate in the soon-to-be-launched Solaris 10 University Challenge Contest. This contest will run from November 2005 to June 2006.

In addition to continuing to drive innovation in the industry by encouraging Alaska’s students to be creative, this contest offers even more. One individual or one team of up to four individuals from the same university will be awarded the Grand Prize - US$5,000 prize purse per individual, plus a Sun Ultra 20 Workstation. The winner’s university will also receive a credit with a retail value of US$100,000 good toward the purchase of Sun Microsystems products, including Sun Fire x64 systems and UltraSPARC processor-based systems.

Sun is very excited to bring this unique contest to Universities worldwide, and this opportunity is yet another way for University of Alaska campus to further demonstrate their level of academic excellence.
