Constitution Hall at the University of Alaska Fairbanks has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. On Nov. 8, 1955, shortly after the building was opened, delegates convened there for the Alaska Constitutional Convention. After the convention was completed three months later, Constitution Hall served as a student union until Wood Center opened in the 1970s. Today, the building houses the university bookstore, a post office, KSUA, UAF Alumni Association and Campus Bible Ministries. The listing coincides with a statewide celebration of the 50th anniversary of Alaska’s constitution. As part of that, UAF is slated to host multiple activities and events in February.
