Two honored for support of UAF

The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday honored two local residents for their support of UAF and the local community. Summer Sessions director Michelle Bartlett and Fairbanks Daily News-Miner Publisher Marilyn Romano each received the chamber’s Golden Heart Award, given to a community member who supports UAF and to a UAF employee who impacts the local community. Bartlett was recognized for starting innovative programs at the university, while Romano was lauded for her overall support of UAF and of the Top of the World Classic. They were among four people to receive awards at the chamber’s annual banquet.
