The University of Alaska Fairbanks Art Department announces a public lecture by Matthew Drutt, chief curator of the Menil Collection, Houston, Texas. The lecture, "Art Now," will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at the University Art Gallery. Drutt was this year’s juror for the All-Alaska Juried Exhibition which will travel to the Fairbanks Arts Association Bear Gallery Aug. 5-27, 2006.
Drutt is former curator at the Guggenheim Museum, New York, where he co-curated the popular exhibition "The Art of the Motorcycle". Funding for the lecture is provided by the Arthur J. Schaible Memorial Cultural Enrichment Fund, University of Alaska Fairbanks.
