UAF College Bowl team takes second place at regionals

The University of Alaska Fairbanks College Bowl team finished second in regional competition over the weekend, beating 10 other teams for the runner-up slot. The Region 14 College Bowl Tournament was held in Boise, Idaho Feb. 24 - 25.

The team--Robb Myers, Joel Vonnahme, Emily Hemenway, and Robinson Duffy--finished the 12-team round-robin tournament in fourth place; therefore qualifying for the four-team double-elimination championship round.

UAF made a strong showing in the championship round by beating each of the top three seeds at least once. In a dramatic, winner-take-all finale, UAF put up a great fight against defending champions Montana State, but lost the title match 115-225.
